Collaborating with OMD to help Zain KSA in their transition to a cookieless world

Supporting Zain, MENA’s leading Telecoms Operator, in their transition to a cookieless world

Through a leading partnership in the region with OMD and Teads, Zain KSA leveraged Teads’ Cookieless Translator as well as A/B testing of both cookieless and cookie-based targeting to transform their media strategy.

Solution

By testing Teads’ suite of cookieless solutions, Zain KSA became one of the leaders of cookieless targeting in the MENA region. The aim of the tests was to show that Zain KSA could remove dependence on cookies for their targeting without showing any drop in campaign performance, specifically around branding KPIs. To do so, Zain KSA ran a number of A/B tests, comparing Teads’ cookie-based audiences vs Teads’ cookieless audiences. The results clearly showed that, removing the cookie as a targeting tool did not impact the campaign.

At Zain KSA, we are continuously exploring new methods of approaching our customers while being the first to test the novelties proposed in Saudi Arabia and MENA. Discovering the OMG & Teads worldwide exclusivity regarding the brand new Cookieless targeting in Teads Ad Manager was a great opportunity to become the first advertiser from the telco industry in Saudi Arabia and MENA to test and gather learnings on how to run a campaign using Cookieless targeting and comparing it with Cookie-based audiences.
